As an American living and working in Germany I had employment income from both German and American employers. When I first tried to file my German income taxes myself, the German Tax Office (Finanzamt) somehow misinterpreted the German-American Tax Treaty and claimed that the income from my American employer was fully taxable in Germany (as if it were income from a German employer). This resulted in an extremely high (and unfair) tax bill. After contacting Prinz Steuerberatung and explaining this situation to them, Mr. David Prinz identified the error made by the German Tax Office and filed an appeal on my behalf, which included a detailed letter explaining why the income from my American employer should NOT be subject to German income tax. His reasoning for the appeal was accepted by the German Tax office, and as a result I saved $51,000 in taxes! (Yes, that's right - over 50K saved!) I cannot thank David and his colleagues enough. He took the time to analyze a unusual and complex situation. Should I ever live in Germany again, I will absolutely use Prinz Steuerberatung for all my taxes.
